Isaiah's Vision Explained and Applied. - Isaiah vi. 5—8. “ Then said I, woe
is me! for I am undone : hecause I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell
among a people of unclean lips ! for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord
of Hosts :— Then flew one of the Seraphim unto me, having a live coal in
his band, which he had taken with the longs from off the altar; and he laid
it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips, and thire iniquity
is taken away, and thy sin purged. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, say-
ing, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I,
send me," mamma

will render to every man according to his deeds; to them, who, by patient

unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, upon every
soul of man that doeth evil.”

SERMON XIII.
Inefficacy of Hearing without Practising the Word.—James i. 22–25. " But
be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves,
For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man be-
holding his natural face in a glass. For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his
way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso
looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a
forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” 444
