PREFACE. THIS little Work contains an Outline of our Nation's History in simple language, with Notes of Progress, Inventions, Discoveries, &c., and an ample supply of Questions for facilitating the very necessary exercise of self-examination on the part of the pupil after the study of a given portion of the text; and, it is hoped, will prove generally useful, not only in the junior classes in schools, but also as a home-lesson book. The student will find that a proper use of the Questions will save him much time, and enable him to master a longer lesson with greater ease and accuracy than he otherwise could. It may be found advisable for the younger pupils to omit the small type. C. CLOUGH. |
