your petitioner for the sum of forty-two hundred and sixty-four dol lars and twenty-five cents, instead of the full sum of five thousand dollars, as had been allowed and approved by said Board. That the reason set forth by your honorable Board for directing the Controller to draw his warrant for a less sum than had been allowed and approved by said Board, was that by the terms of said Act it was the duty of your petitioner to furnish at his own expense the books on which said index was written, when in truth and in fact it was no part of his duty so to do, as by an inspection of said Act will fully appear. And your petitioner shows that your honorable Board found the cost of said books so furnished by the State Printer to have been the sum of seven hundred and thirty-five dollars and seventy-five cents, and thereupon said Board ordered said sum to be deducted from said sum of five thousand dollars, which was done, and your petitioner received only the sum of forty-two hundred and sixty-four dollars and twenty-five cents, leaving still due to him the sum of seven hundred and thirty-five dollars and seventy-five cents as aforesaid. Wherefore your petitioner prays that your honorable Board will for a second time entertain his said claim, to the end that the said claim for five thousand dollars, as allowed and approved as aforesaid by your honorable Board, may be fully paid to him without deduc tion or diminution, as of right ought to be done, and that your hon orable Board will direct the Controller to draw his warrant on the Treasurer in favor of your petitioner for said sum of seven hundred and thirty-five dollars and seventy-five cents.
