ACTS

Which may be said by the Server as opportunity offers.
Act of Faith and Adoration.

My Lord Jesus Christ, who, for the love which thou bearest to men, remainest night and day in this sacrament so full of compassion and love, awaiting, calling, and welcoming all who come to thee; I believe that thou art truly present and that in this sacrament of the altar there are present truly and really thy Body, thy Blood, thy Soul and thy Divinity. Yes, it is thy whole self, Jesus Christ, God and Man in one Divine Person, my God, my Redeemer, and my Judge. This is my faith, and nothing shall shake it. I adore thee from the abyss of my nothingness, and I thank thee for all the graces which thou hast bestowed upon me, and particularly for having given me this privilege of assisting in this Holy Sacrifice, and taking so close a part in thy worship. May all the angels and saints adore thee, and render thee thanks, more acceptable than mine, for thy merciful condescension!

Before the Elevation.

Act of Confidence.

O JESUS! Brightness of the Father, eternal Wisdom, who knowest all our wants so well; infinite Love, who art more wishful to load us with favours than we can desire to receive them! fill our souls with thy gifts to the full measure of thy tenderness. Speak for us to thy Father, lay before him our wants, implore his mercy for us, and we shall be filled with his gifts. And you, O blessed Mary, our intercessor with Jesus, turn his eyes with favour towards us, that in his looks we may find a pledge of every blessing.

After the Elevation.

O MY Soul! abasement, wonder, homage and love ought now to be your language. Divine Victim, do you speak for us to your heavenly Father. Silence must be our adoration, our praise, and the proof of our fervour. O infinite love, O hope of all who are in need, O fulness of all that is good, O hidden beauty of our altars, disclose thyself to the eyes of my soul that I may be ravished for ever. Sun of justice and of love, consuming fire, possess me with that fire of charity which burns in thee, and penetrate my soul to its innermost depths with thy adorable presence. Come angels,

come saints, come Mary and all the blessed, praise and glorify our Lord Jesus Christ in this adorable sacrament of the altar!

After the Pater Noster.

Spiritual Communion.

I love

My Jesus, I believe that thou art truly present in the most holy sacrament. thee above all things, and I desire to possess thee within my soul. Since I am unable now to receive thee sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace thee as being already there, and unite myself wholly to thee; never permit me to be separated from thee.

Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Water from the side of Christ, cleanse me. Passion of Christ, comfort me. O good Jesus, hear me. Hide me within thy wounds. Suffer me not to be separated from thee. From the malignant enemy defend me. At the hour of my death call me; and bid me come unto thee, that with thy saints and angels I may praise thee for everlasting ages.

After the Communion.

Prayer of St. Aloysius to our B. Lady. O MOST holy Mary, my Mother and my Queen, -to-day, and for all my life, even until the hour

of my death, I put my trust in thy maternal tenderness. I abandon myself to thy holy protection, and lay myself with confidence in the bosom of thy mercy. I commend to your care my body and soul, all my hopes and joys, my wants and my miseries, my life and the manner of my death, in order that, through your intercession and merits, all my thoughts, words, actions and desires may be ruled and regulated by your holy will and that of your divine Son.
