The wife of Mr Abrahams, of Chatham dockyard: he was greatly affected by the circumftance, and, on entering the chamber where the corpfe lay, he fat on the fide of the bed, and obferving that he could not long furvive her, he fell on her neck and expired!

Lately at Clipsham, in Rutlandshire, in the goth year of her age, Sarah Berrige.The caufe of her death originated in a fcratch on her hand by a pin, which being neglected, festered, and ultimately proved fatal. Previous to this accident, the faid the never knew an hour's illness in her life. Mifs Montefiore, daughter of Mr J. Montefiore, of Kennington-Her death was occafioned by her drefs having acci dentally caught fire.

At Bath, in the 74th year of her age, Mrs Sufannah Gordon, fifter to the late Sir William Gordon, K B.

The Rev. W. Jackfon, A. M. Vicar of Christ Church, Hants. He had spent the preceding evening with a party of friends, and retired to bed apparently in perfect health; but was taken ill about fix o'clock in the morning, and in a very few minutes expired.

12. Mils Wilkes, daughter of the celebrated John Wilkes, at her houfe in Grofvenor-iquare, London. She walked Mr Patrick Magrane, of Quickpenny; in the Park the day before, and dined apafter returning from a vifit in the neigh-parently in perfect health. About twelve bourhood, he was fhot thro'the head by the accidental difcharge of a piftol, in the act of difengaging it from the place to which it had been attached.

The late Lord Bateman. He died as he was ftepping into his carriage at his own door.

at night he called up her fervants, and in less than an hour expired. She was a well bred intelligent woman. Filial affection was always a friking feature in her character, and this virtue the difplayed in a generous ufe of her independent fortune, in fupport of her father, during many fevere embarraffments which his profufe ftyle of living had brought upon him.

16. Mr Cotton, a farmer of Littiwood,

on

on returning from the Swan Inn, he unfortunately tell from his horte into a ditch, and, being a corpulent man, and fomewhat intoxicated, he lay about half an hour without being able to rife. His head refting upon the bank on one fide, and his feet on the other, the water paffed over his body without touching his face. In this diftrefling fituation he was discovered, and, on being affifted out of the ditch, he walked to a neighbouring farm houfe, where he was put into a warm bed, and every neceffary affitance rendered; but he died in a few

hours.

- At Edinburgh, in the 66th year of her age, Mrs Henrietta Baillie, much and july regretted.

26. Mr Jolliffe, M. P. for Petersfield. His death was owing to accident. Mr Jolliffe had been for a long time previously employed in infpecting feme improvements on his eftate at Mitcham, in Surrey. He went into a field adjoining the house, where a number of labourers were employed in digging; whilft walking, not oblerving a pit near, he fell in, and unfortunately broke the fpine of his back, and fractured his skull in feveral places. He lay a fhort time in that fituation; but affiftance being near, he was conveyed to his houfe, where, after lapquithing in extreme torture until Sunday, he then expired.
