[351] INCIPIT REGISTRUM de ordinibus celebratis in diocesi Wyntoniensi a tempore consecrationis venerabilis patris domini Willelmi de Wykeham Dei gratiâ Wyntoniensis episcopi, qui consecratus fuit in episcopum Wyntoniensem decimo die mensis Octobris A.D. 1367 in ecclesiâ cathedrali Sancti Pauli Londoniis.

Here begins the register of orders conferred in the diocese of Winchester from the time of the consecration of the reverend father Sir William of Wykeham, by the grace of God bishop of Winchester, who was consecrated bishop of Winchester on the 10th day of October, A. D. 1367, in St. Paul's Cathedral.

Ordines celebrati in ecclesiâ cathedrali Wyntoniensi per venerabilem patrem dominum Gervasium dei gratiâ Bangoriensem episcopum de mandato et auctoritate reverendi patris domini Willelmi de Wykeham eâdem gratiâ episcopi Wyntoniensis die Sabbati quatuor temporum1 in primâ hebdomadâ quadragesimae, videlicet iv nonas Martii A.D. 1367 et consecrationis dicti domini Wyntoniensis episcopi anno primo.

The Ember weeks were called "jejunia quatuor temporum." fasts of the four ordination seasons. Canon 31 of 1603 declares that no deacons or ministers be made and ordained but only on Sundays immediately following jejunia quatuor temporum, commonly called Ember weeks.
