The exports of the year ending September 31, 1792, amounted in value to twenty-one millions, five thousand five hundred and fixty-eight pounds, from which time they have been gradually on the increase. The imports of America, consist mostly of articles on which European industry has been exhausted, an idea of their extent, as well as of that of the American navigation, depending on their commerce, will appear by the following tables, containing abstracts of duties on the imports, and on the tonnage of veffels entered into the different ports of the United States, in the year 1791.
