For Associate Judges, each elector voted for only four candidates while six Judges were to be cho thus giving the minority a representation. The Democrats nominated William F. Allen, Martin Grover, Rufus W. Peckham, and Charles A. Rapello. The Republicans nominated Charles J. Folger, Charles Andrews, Charles Mason, and Robert S. Hale.
