PUBLISHED FOR THE PROPRIETORS, BY
OLIPHANT, EDINBURGH; CURRY & Co., DUBLIN;
RUTHERGLEN & Co., GLASGOW.
TO SIR ROBERT PEEL, BART.,
PREMIER OF ENGLAND.
I ventured to address you on behalf of an old Public Servant of Education suffering privation. With a generous promptitude you responded to my application, and by means of the “ Royal Bounty," afforded timely relief to one who has “ Done the State some Service.” In dedicating this work to you, I take the opportunity, therefore, of thanking you, in the name of the scholastic profession generally; and would thus record the sense which the friends both of public and private Education entertain, of your sympathy for the Schoolmaster.
I have the honor to remain,
Your very obedient humble Servant,
Ed. S. Q. R.
