The Minister shall introduce the Sermon by reading one of the Collects or some other short prayer suitable to the occasion; and at the conclusion of the Sermon he shall repeat one of the benedictions contained in the Liturgy. In remodelling the preceding prayers for Sunday mornings, it is taken for granted, as stated in the first rubric, that appropriate forms would be appointed for the different festivals, exhibiting a more lively recognition of these joyous seasons than are at present prescribed in our Liturgy. It may here be necessary merely to add, that it is presumed the Te Deum would be appointed to be used both in the Morning and Evening Service on all Festivals, as well as on all occasions when the Lord's Supper was administered; that the Magnificat and Benedictus should be read, the one in the morning and the other in the evening of Christmas Day; the Nunc Dimittis on the Sunday following; and that other appropriate anthems taken from Scripture should be appointed for Easter Sunday, Whitsunday, Trinity Sunday, Good Friday, and Ascension-day.
