path of judgment, and showed to him the way of understanding (i)?

God of our Lord Jesus Christ, Father of glory, give unto me the spirit of wisdom in the knowledge of thee! Enlighten the eyes of my understanding (j), that I may know how to refuse the evil and choose the good (k); for there is no wisdom, nor understanding, nor counsel, against thee (1): thou searchest all hearts (m), thou knowest our imaginations that we go about (n), and the things that come into our minds, every one of them (o). Now to God, only wise, be glory, through Jesus Christ, for ever. Amen (p).

PRAISE OF THE OMNIPRESENCE OF GOD.

Do not I fill heaven and earth, saith the Lord? Jer. xxiii. 24.

O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me; thou knowest my down sitting and mine up rising; thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path, and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there! if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there! If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,

even there shall thine hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me (a)!

Behold, heaven, and the heaven of heavens, cannot contain thee (b). Thine eyes are in every place (c), they are open upon all the ways of the sons of men (d), and no thought can be withholden from thee (e). Secret things belong unto thee, O Lord (f), If I sin, then thou markest me, and there is none that can deliver out of thine hand (g); for thou wilt bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil (h).

Behold, even thou seest it, O Lord (j)! for there is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves (k). PRAISE OF THE HOLINESS OF GOD.

There is none holy as the Lord. 1. Sam. ii. 2.

HOLY, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come(a)! Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy (b); thou only art righteous (c); righteous in all thy ways, and holy in all thy works (d). Thy law is perfect; thy command is pure (e); justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne(f), and holiness becometh thine house for ever(g).
