This is followed by a reprint of Edmund Randolph's 'Address on the history of California, from the discovery of the country to the year 1849' (p. 268-504, first published in 1860) and John W. Dwinelle's 'Address on the acquisition of California by the United States' (p. 306-321, first published in 1866. Also reprinted in this volume are James W. Taylor's report upon gold and silver mining East of the Rocky Mountains (p. 323-350) and the Dept. of the Interior's 'Circular in relation to mining claims' (p. 351-357), both of which were omitted in the earlier 320 p. issue. |
