Mr. B. of Nedging, Effex. She fell from the horfe the rode behind a fervant, and which was frightened by a waggon, when one of the wheels went over her head, and crushed it to pieces. At his feat at Cole-green, co. Herts, in confequence of the bursting of a bloodveffel on the lungs, on the 27th ult. and in his 23d year, George Auguftus Clavering Cowper, Earl Cowper, Viscount Fordwich, Baron Cowper of Wingham, a baronet, and alfo a prince of the Holy Roman Empire. The diforder which produced this much-lamented event was an ab. fcefs on the lungs, which baffled all the medical skill of Sir Walter Farquhar and Dr. Turton. He had the misfortune, in the Spring of last year, to fall from his horse; and to his refufal to be bled at the time, the phyficians who attended him attribute his premature death. His LordChip was never perfectly well after this accident, though it was only lately that he was obliged to confine himself to his houfe. His indifpofition commenced with a fevere cold, which he caught while doing duty with the Hertfordshire regiment of militia, in which he was a captain. He was born at Florence in 1766; fucceeded his father 1789; and is fucceeded by his brother, Peter Leopold Lewis Francis, born May 6, 1788. His Lordship was poffeffed of a fortune of 20,000l. a year; and was entirely free from thofe indifcreet propenfities which too often mark the cha racter of our modern men of fashion. His difpofition, manners, and intellectual endowments, promifed that he would be an ornament to his rank and station. In fort, his character cannot have higher praise bestowed on it than in reporting the opinion recently given of it by the worthy Chief Justice of the Court of King's Bench, who faid of his Lordship, that he did not know a more promising young his friends feel for the lofs of a promifing man among the Peerage.
